Apace
Systems’ Real-time Network Storage Systems Certified by Canopus Corporation
Multiple Edius Pro 3 editing workstations can benefit
from vStor network storage system for multi-stream DV,
HDV, SD and HD workgroup editing over Gigabit Ethernet LAN
San Jose and Orange, Calif., March 28, 2005 – Apace Systems Corporation®, a
leading storage solutions provider for video, announced that vStor has been certified by Canopus® for use with EDIUS Pro
3 nonlinear editing software for cost effective workgroup storage and editing. Video
editing workgroups based on Canopus’s Edius Pro
software, ideal for DV, HDV, SD and HD editing, can now leverage high
performance Apace Systems’ vStor network storage
systems for multi-stream, real-time editing over Gigabit Ethernet (GE) LAN.
“The capability to have multiple editing
workstations share high bit rate compressed HD, uncompressed SD or multiple DV
streams from a vStor networked storage system, dramatically enhances
productivity, scalability, and resource management for the entire spectrum of
professional post production and broadcast installations,” said Ray
Brooksby, VP of Sales and Marketing at Canopus Corporation.
Editors can use vStor
storage ranging in capacity from 1 to 6 Terra Bytes just
as they would use local drives in EDIUS, directly capturing, rendering and
retrieving clips in the same way. The vStor system
provides centralized storage allowing EDIUS generated projects and files to be
securely managed. Each user, as part of a workgroup or subgroup, can access private
or public shared secure storage within the vStor
system. Also, non-editing users on the
network can conveniently review video content from their desktop machines.
“Content
sharing and accessibility are at the core of Apace’s
business. Canopus manages to offer very cost-effective yet
feature-rich professional video editing solutions that are in line with Apace’s cost and high-performance network storage business
model, resulting in a very synergistic end-to-end editing environment
affordable by the entire market. We appreciate their certification of our
solution as a complimentary shared storage piece in support of their customer
base,” said Dr. Lee Hu, CEO and President of Apace Systems
Corporation.
Both Companies will demonstrate their products at NAB
2005 in the Las
Vegas Convention Center, April 18-21, 2005, at Canopus booth #SL325 and Apace Systems booth #SL4037.
Apace Systems now offers its aggressively priced
solution globally through its OEM and Video/Audio Reseller channel partners. vStor v1000/V2000 series have been
installed and tested in several strategic partners’ sites and is shipping in
volume. vStor product
pricing begins at $9,995 MSRP.
